Course Overview

This course is designed to support licensed cannabis establishments in Rhode Island in meeting their responsibility to train employees on applicable cannabis laws, safety standards, and operational compliance requirements.

Rhode Island operates a regulated cannabis market that includes both:

• Medical cannabis compassion centers
• Adult-use cannabis retail establishments

Cannabis licensing and regulatory oversight is administered by the
Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission (CCC).

Participants receive instruction on:

• Employee responsibilities under Rhode Island cannabis regulations
• State licensing structure and prohibited conduct
• Health, safety, and responsible sales practices
• Identification verification and diversion prevention
• Inventory control, security, and compliance awareness
• Inspection readiness and regulatory accountability

This course is intended for dispensary staff, managers, and other licensed cannabis establishment employees participating in employer-led compliance training.

Successful completion of this course — including all required quizzes and the final exam — provides documentation of training completion for employer compliance and internal recordkeeping purposes.
